The Tri-Valley's unincorporated community of Alamo has nothing to do with the ill-fated 19th century Texas fortress. Instead, it was named by the Spanish in 1850 for the poplar trees that lined San Ramon Creek. As of 2005, the median home price was $1,180,527.
